Biomass farm and natural heat

St. Lambrecht

Naturwärme is a pioneering achievement in regional energy generation. It was founded as a cooperative by 14 farmers from St. Lambrecht and St. Blasen together with the Benedictine monastery.

The heating plant and district heating network went into operation in 1993. Certification as a biomass farm followed in 2011. Numerous private buildings, St. Lambrecht Abbey, the Hotel Lambrechterhof and the Austin Powder company are supplied. The sale of quality wood chips and logs is another successful line of business.
