Hühnerkogel
This is an easy and ejoyable high-altitude hike!
Follow the path trough the high forest to the tree line. Immediately after the tree line, follow the marked path over the ridge in the direction of the Hühnerkogel to the rocky area. Walk along the grade to the summit. The summit lieas at over 2.000 meters.
At the summit offers a magnificent panoramic view of Oberwölz!

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right in the direction of Murau. In Niederwölz keep right again and drive to Oberwölz. In Oberwölz continue to the Schöttel chapel.
Coming from Tamsweg drive via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) to Murau. Continue to Niederwölz - here keep left and drive to Oberwölz. In Oberwölz continue to the Schöttep chapel.
From the parking lot Schöttlkapelle, keep right. Cross the stream here and follow trail no. 12 straight up the south-facing ridge to a cross, from here it is only 30 inutes to the summit. On the ridge towards SW easy passage to Kilnbreim (20 minutes) or hike to Kilnbrein from Halserhütte.
The way back is the same way.
On the way back you can explore the historix town of Oberwölz.
