A forest and meadow tour from the mountain health resort of Fischbach in the Joglland-Waldheimat region to the idyllic Herrnalm.
From the high-altitude climatic health resort of Fischbach past Freizeitland Fischbach with its mini-golf course to the Herrnalm. Every year at Whitsun, the famous “Herrnalm Festival” takes place with a hole-pulling competition. From the Herrnalm, the hike continues to the Schanzsattel with a refreshment stop at the Alpengasthof Schanz, then in the direction of the Teufelstein with signposts to the “Zeller Kreuz” from the Alptor. It is then not far back to the village via the “Gmoa”.
A section of the tour is also part of the long-distance hiking trail “From glacier to wine”.

- We start the tour at the hiking starting point in Fischbach.
- We turn off the road in the immediate vicinity of the “Zum Forsthaus” inn. A yellow signpost in the direction of “Herrnalm” serves as a guide.We walk past the bathing pond until we reach a materl.
- Here the trail leads slightly downhill across a meadow and then immediately uphill again on a forest road.
- White-red-white markings and hiking signs guide you past and through houses and farms.
- We turn right at the junction in the direction of “Waldandacht” and “Herrnalm”.
- We continue through the forest onto the asphalt road.
- After a farm, we turn left downhill and reach the Waisenschmid via meadows and forest.
- We walk directly towards the house in front of us and keep slightly left across the meadow, following the markings on the electricity pylon.
- After the ascent in the forest, we follow the forest road after a large meadow until we reach an asphalt road.
- Now we turn left slightly downhill until shortly before the farmhouse on the right, a sign with “Herrnalm” shows us the direction.
- The trail climbs steadily uphill along hiking trails and forest roads until we reach the Herrnalm.
- We head towards Fürstkogel and then follow Zentralalpenweg (02) and Mariazellerweg (06) to Alpengasthof Schanz.
- Once on the Schanz, take hiking trail no. 740 and part of the Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail to the Zeller Kreuz. Signposting “Zeller Kreuz”From here, walk back to Fischbach via the Gmoa on hiking trail no. 8.
Visit Fischbach at Easter time, where you can admire the breathtaking Easter bunny village in all its glory.
