West, North: From Bregenz/Innsbruck via the A 12, A 93 and A 8 to Salzburg. From Salzburg on the A 10 to St. Michael im Lungau. From here on the B 96 to Tamsweg and further towards Murau via Sauerfeld to Krakau.
South: From Klagenfurt on the B 83 to Scheifling. Then take the B 96 to Murau and on to Krakau.
From the Krakau municipal office you start in the direction of the church, then through the town (east) towards the end of the town (note: do not turn off in the direction of Günster Wasserfall but follow the road straight on). You stay on the road that leads out of town. The hike leads on the asphalted road to a fork in the path with a chapel (French Cross), here you turn left onto the gravel road uphill towards Birkfeldsiedlung. The route is very well signposted and the view of the surrounding region and the impressive mountain landscape is unique.
You leave the Birkfeldsiedlung and come back to an asphalted path that leads down to the road towards Günster Wasserfall. Follow the signpost and keep right. After a further stretch on the road, turn left onto a meadow (güterweg) towards the swimming lake. After the meadow, cross a small stream and follow the path towards the forest. The hiking route runs parallel to the fitness course with Kneipp facility. The forest path then opens up to the swimming lake. Walk along the swimming lake on the left and follow the signs to the municipal office.
The path directly around the swimming lake is also worth seeing.
