Tradition and modern age
Wine & culture
The broad variety of art and culture in Styria represents the rich cultural heritage that was built over centuries, whereby the first imperial residence embodied a major highlight within the timeline. Back then, the limits went far beyond what they are today. Nowadays, the contrasts between urban and rural culture in and surrounding Graz attract each other almost magically.
May it be the distinctive craftmanship between Deutschlandsberg in Southern Styria or Gleisdorf in East Styria, or the fascinating offer of art and culture in Graz. Eventually, the city of Graz is a proud carrier of the titles UNESCO world heritage and City of Design. It is an extraordinary award and honor for a relatively small city such as Graz to be part of a creative city network together with various big cities such as Berlin, Buenos Aires, Kobe, Montreal, Nagoya or Shanghai. That fact is implying the good climate, where design can emerge and flourish.
The GenussCard (enjoyment card), the complementary entrance ticket to more than 280 excursion destinations spread all over Eastern Styria, the Region Spa Country Styria with its thermal spas and volcanoes up to Southern Styria and the Region Graz, offers access to various museums, castles and other cultural attractions within the three aforementioned regions, as well as in the region of Graz.
