From the Feldbach train station heading east, we soon cross the railroad tracks and reach the Konixberg, which is especially known for its cheese specialties from the Milchhof Krenn dairy farm. Here we leave the head track and take the hiking trail no. 786 north as a shortcut. This leads us first down to Schützing and then back up the next hill to finally reach quite flat on the hill to the chocolate manufactory Zotter, where the mouth is fully satisfied.
Strengthened, we cross the Dörfler Graben after a short stretch of road and approach with beautiful views on the ridge Kornberg Castle, which is a true rarity with its pentagonal ground plan. Connoisseurs should also take a look at the inner courtyard and visit one of the changing exhibitions or the castle chapel dedicated to St. Andrew.
Next, we cross the Auersbach valley and pass through the forest between the ponds to the Gniebingberg, which rewards us with a wonderful view. A hail defense rocket hut still reminds us of the time when all kinds of projectiles were used to try to avert thunderstorms and thus save the harvest. On the further way through the forest into the Raab valley we even have the opportunity to visit a burial ground from the Hallstatt period (7th century B.C.). A little further on, at the only paratrooper monument in the German-speaking world, we can already see Feldbach with the most colorful church tower in the world. In the shopping town of Feldbach we have reached our destination.
