Wine tasting along the Schilcher Wine Trail
(Schilcher)Wine Tastings
The rosé-coloured Schilcher shimmers in the wine glass and lets you guess the fruity note from the colour alone. The Blaue Wildbacher grape is a true all-rounder, as it also bubbles fruity and cheerful on the palate as a Prosecco or sparkling wine. In ripe vintages, the grape variety is often vinified as a sweet Spätlese (late vintage) and Auslese, as well as ice wines and Trockenbeerenauslesen.
The grape then masters yet another form: as a deep red, powerful red wine. The Blaue Wildbacher grape even has no problem making the leap into the white wine category. There it presents itself magnificently alongside the other white wines grown in Schilcherland. Whether Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc or Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Muskateller: the variety of wines in Schilcherland can definitely be seen, and tasted, in the course of a wine tasting at the local winegrowers.
