Günster Wasserfall
Schöder"Joyfully thundering I plunge to the valley. And greet you all many thousand times": This quotation from Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall's ode to Styria can be found as an inscription on a marble plaque on the ascent to the waterfall. It was once affixed to celebrate the construction of new staircases around the force of nature.
With a drop of 65 meters, the waterfall is the highest in Styria. 250 to 300 liters per second rush down over the two cauldrons carved out by the water and the three imposing cascades. Since 1906, the entire waterfall has also been accessible by footpaths and stairs. This well-built path, secured by railings, leads to the highest point of the waterfall. On the numerous bridges you always have a fascinating view of the foaming force of the water. A fabulous excursion for young and old.
The waterfall is open from the beginning of April to mid-October, depending on the weather.
