Ausstellung "Ernst Fuchs und das Geheimnis der Schönheit"
Exhibition "Ernst Fuchs and the secret of beauty"
04.10. to 10.11.2024
The artist known as the "painter prince" attracted international attention very early on. Together with Anton Lehmden, Wolfgang Hutter, Rudolf Hausner and Arik Brauer, Ernst Fuchs founded the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism. Salvador Dali is regarded as an important companion and friend.
With the redesign of the "Otto Wagner Villa" in Hütteldorferstraße in Vienna, Fuchs not only saved an architectural jewel from destruction. Today it houses his museum, which he designed entirely according to his own ideas. Ernst Fuchs left his mark on the Austrian art scene like no other and left visible traces in various places in Styria.
The exhibition in the Farrach castle also offers some surprises for Fuchs connoisseurs, including works from the artist's early creative phase that have never been shown before. At the center of the exhibition is the presentation of a portrait by Claudia Schiffer with a special "story" and has never been exhibited publicly before.
