The aperitivo has a long tradition in northern Italy. People meet up with friends or family, have a drink and eat small snacks. The name comes from the Latin "aperire", which means "to open". The idea: a drink, often slightly bitter or sparkling, stimulates the appetite and prepares you for the meal.
Aperitivo time usually begins in the afternoon. It is always relaxed and informal, the focus is on enjoyment and the atmosphere is great. There are no fixed rules - everything is possible, nothing has to be. And when you're chatting away at the aperitivo and getting full from the snacks, dinner is just a side issue - no problem!
Experience a piece of Italian lifestyle with Italian specialities combined with South Styrian wine and drinks. Basically, you can just drop by and find your favourite spot - but we still recommend making a reservation, as otherwise it can sometimes be "unfortunately full".
