Gemeinsam ist Alzheimer schöner
Play by Peter Turrini
“Alzheimer's is more beautiful together” is not a classic play about Alzheimer's, but a play that deals with love, tenderness, anger and life itself - especially with a long-term couple relationship.
He: “You're getting more and more mute.”
She: “That's because of the thoughts. I'm slowly running out of them.”
“He” and ‘she’, both older, have spent their lives together and are now in a retirement home, in the ward for dementia patients. In the face of increasing forgetfulness, they look back on their shared past - the highs and lows, the good times and the bad.
Their mutual accusations become increasingly violent, but at the same time unspecific, as their memories become increasingly distorted. In the end, the two no longer recognize each other. If they had the chance, could they start all over again?
