The KAWOST theater group invites you to a special performance of the play “Tracing of Rudolf Otto Wiemer” on six dates in the churches of the region (during masses). In this unusual play, the parable of the prodigal son is revisited in an impressive way and serves as a very special kind of sermon.
The story begins with a wanted ad placed by the father of the lost son. The “Office for Information, Investigations etc.” takes on the job and interviews a number of witnesses - characters who are right there in the audience. These include the brother, the girlfriend, a waitress, a nurse, a truck driver, a pig herder and a landlady. The son's journey is pieced together from their stories: his escape, his despair and finally his conversion. In a haunting moment, the questioner addresses the audience directly: “If the wanted man knocks on your door, don't slam it. Take him in.
