The Gaiswinkl circular trail is one of the most idyllic circular hiking trails in the
Ausseerland Salzkammergut. The tour runs directly at the foot of the striking Backenstein mountain through the district of Gaiswinkl in
Grundlsee. With numerous cultural stops, an easy route and charming landscapes, this hike offers a special
nature experience for young and old.
The starting point is the war memorial in Gaiswinkl, from where the trail leads through the rural village, past the Dona, Stöckl, Thoman and Kriag farmsteads. The route then runs across the “Wiesen” to the Mühlbach stream, which is crossed. After a short section through the forest, you reach the Polly hut and meet the “Via Artis” there. A small road leads back to the starting point.
