Fieberbründl circular trail, Maria Fieberbründl

In the middle of a charming forest landscape leads us this beautiful circular hiking trail

Next to the pilgrimage church of Maria Fieberbründl, there is a beautiful graduation plant made entirely of larch wood.

According to legend, a hermit built a wooden hut in the forest, in which he placed a statue of the Virgin Mary. Next to the hut there was a small fountain from which the visitors of the respected hermit drank and which was used against fever diseases.

At the request of many pilgrims, the wooden chapel was replaced in 1879 by a dignified stone chapel, whose consecration took place on October 26.

This chapel of grace, "Maria im Elend", corresponds to the present-day sanctuary. A smaller chapel, "Maria Fieberbründl", was also built, but was replaced by the prayer hall in 1894. In 1954 the prayer hall was connected to the chapel by a transept.

This easy circular walk we start in the pilgrimage site Maria Fieberbründl and go in a round through the Hofwald and back to the starting point. Here we can then be spoiled by Styrian delicacies in the inn Kirchenwirt-Durlacher can.

We recommend:
  • Sea air in Maria Fieberbründl! In a huge forest area called "Hofwald" is located in the immediate vicinity of the pilgrimage church Maria Fieberbründl this graduation plant.
  • A great facility for your well-being. Water enriched with sea salt splashes over blackthorn and spruce branches. Thus this "sea water" atomizes into finest water particles, which can be absorbed by the lungs. Optimal for colds and preventive against cardiovascular diseases.
