Nature Park Hike: Experience the nature park with many of its special features
Content: Together, we will hike on Stage 2 of the new long-distance trail "Seven Elements" to the Great Maiereck, descending through the Spitzenbach Gorge. Along the way, the two rangers Christian Scheucher and Heimo Emmerstorfer will share exciting discoveries and stories about the nature and culture of the region with you.
We will meet at the starting point of the Spitzenbach Gorge, from where we will take a shuttle together to Polzau. There, the ascent begins and leads over wooded paths to the Admonter Höhe. Afterwards, we will follow the scenic mountain ridge up to the Great Maiereck (1,763 m), whose summit rewards with an impressive panorama.
We continue over the Sauboden and the Spitzenbergeralm through shady deciduous forests. The Spitzenbach Gorge impresses with its distinctive rock walls and the rushing brook. With over 400 documented butterfly species, it is also considered a natural rarity. At the end of the gorge, we will reach our vehicles again.
Requirements: For this adventure, you should have sufficient fitness for a day's hike of about 8 hours and a maximum of 1,200 meters in elevation gain.
