Starting point is the Kaiserau car park. We follow the marked hiking trail over the Wagenbänkalm - Lahngangkogel to the Klinkehütte. This section is easy to master and also suitable as a family hike.
From now on it becomes more demanding. We leave the lovely alpine pasture area and walk on the rugged rock. The Admonter Kalbling is relatively easy to conquer in about 2 hours from the Klinkehütte; the transition to the Sparafeld is extremely rewarding, especially with regard to the breathtaking views of the rugged mountain world of the Gesaeuse mountains, but requires surefootedness.
The most difficult part of the round tour is the transition over the riffles to the Kreuzkogel. Here, at lofty heights, absolute surefootedness and a head for heights are required!
The descent from the Kreuzkogel is again easier to master, the view into the upper Enns valley is magnificent. Even if we still want to conquer the last summit of the tour, the Hahnstein, this requires our full concentration again for a few minutes, because we have to overcome the last meters of the vertical rock face to the summit of the Hahnstein on metal bars.
Via the Scheiblegger Hochalm, past the bizarre rock formation of the "3 Monks" we hike back to our starting point in Kaiserau.
