Tressenstone via Castle Trautenfels

Tour with hut stop and summit cross. You start from the castle parking lot and reach the Grimminghütte in about 1 hour and in another 45 min the Gifpel of the Tressenstein.
You hike leisurely from Trautenfels Castle to the Grimminghütte and further up to the Tressenstein. Up there you'll find the most magnificent views over the Enns Valley. You won't be alone - no wonder - the little brother easily outshines the big one (Grimming) in terms of visitors. The descent is via the same path.

More information

Coming from Liezen on the B 320, exit at the traffic circle in Trautenfels in the direction of Irdning and after approx. 300 m turn right into the Museum Castle Trautenfels.
Starting from Trautenfels Castle, the trail leads you along initially flat forest paths past the Neuhaus church ruins. The trees along the way offer plenty of shade, but always provide a view of the Enns Valley and Pürgg. The forest road is replaced after 3/4 hour by a hollow way and leads the last 15 min again over an access road to the Grimminghütte (refreshment - and overnight stay possibility). From now on, the trail leads through the beech forest in the direction of Tressenstein. In the last section becoming steeper, you reach the summit after about 45 min from the Grimminghütte. From below, hardly recognizable in the clear shadow of the Grimming, you have a fantastic view over the Enns Valley. The descent is via the same path.
