Gesäuse

Mödlingerhütte

Imagine the following: A recently expanded picture book hut in front of the towering, rocky heights of the Reichenstein. Inside it smells of fresh culinary delicacies and outside the good mountain air awaits you at 1,523 meters. The accessibility of the hut is quite wonderful from several sides and especially hikeable.

The car is parked in Johnsbach or at the parking lot above Gaishorn and then it's a brisk climb to the Mödlingerhütte. Or one chooses Klinkehütte or Kaiserau as starting point. Mountain bikers love the route from Gaishorn (and only from there!) and they all meet at the top to eat Holzfällernockerl or for a rendezvous with the Topfenstrudel. And a glass of Gesäuse wine for the big ones and a Kracherl for the little ones is certainly also part of the party.

Time to rest

Are you tired, lie down! The nice thing about it is, sleeping facilities are really taken care of at the Mödlingerhütte. There are multi-bed rooms and for 56 mountain friends the chance to snooze in the warm camp. You can also reserve your sleeping place online. Speaking of warm: If the idea of the Mödlingerhütte alone warms your heart, then just wait until you yourself sit in front of the hut and look the Reichenstein in the eye.
