Gesäuse

salza

Emerald-colored and beautiful, the Salza meanders through the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park and looks damn good doing it. Its character reveals itself most beautifully when you are very close to it. In a rafting boat, a kayak or simply swimming, one is then fascinated by Conglomerate Gorge & Co.

our natural jewel

When the wild water calls, we pack up the paddles and head for the natural jewel in the middle of the nature park. If you just take a quick look at the water, you'll think you're in the Caribbean. But as soon as you jump in, you know that you are in the Alps after all. You can't really look away. That's why it's best to book yourself in with one of the many capable water sports providers and fully immerse yourself in the Salza adventure.

Palfau and Wildalpen are anyway known far and wide as a whitewater El Dorado. We confirm: The bush drummers are right. There is nowhere more beautiful to paddle. And if you listen to the instructions of the rafting guide, then nothing stands in the way of the fun. Open your eyes and go for it!

Gesäuse

eat & sleep

They are rustic and outspoken, the Gesäuse inns.  And "regional" is not a code word in the Gesäuse, but a duty. In their backpacks they have a selection of Styrian classics to delight the palate. The traditional preparation awakens a thousand and one memories and, on balance, simply makes you blissful.

And restful sleep is possible in the Gesäuse anyway. Hotels, guesthouses, huts and campsites are scattered all over the Gesäuse. Everyone is sure to find a comfortable bed for the night. That's a promise!
