We did not imagine Bruck an der Mur this way! Atypical for a trip into the city, we first wandered from the beautiful old town to a mountain peak. There a wonderful panoramic view opens up high above the roofs of the city. From the forest home to Mariazell and from the Hochschwab with the Green Lake to the glacier world of Tauern – it's a special kind of "city panorama"!
Our small "guide" was thus not lying. It read: "That is why Bruck an der Mur is an ideal starting point for a trip on the known Mur cycling path and into the entire Upper Styria area. Bruck, which is also called the Kornmesser city according to its landmark, the Gothic Kornmesser house, thus combines urban life with the Styrian mountain scenery, city culture and culinary delights with nature and relaxation". We descended again and reached the historic city centre. We had also read about this already: "As one of the oldest cities in Austria, the Bruck old town has many architectural gems, "guarded" by the Bruck castle hill. Bruck an der Mur - small, nice and surrounded by gentle mountains and green forests as well as the Mur and Mürz rivers.
