The Brucker Schlossberg
Bruck an der MurThe once mighty Landskron Castle, which had existed since the 13th century at the latest and was rebuilt in the course of the 16th century, was completely destroyed in the devastating city fire of 1792.
Today the remains of the wall surround a romantic plateau, which offers a wonderful view over the city and its surroundings - from here you really see the most beautiful city panorama. A walk along the paths up here is one of the most popular “city hikes” in all of Upper Styria.
The literature trail enables an enjoyable hike from the Minoritenkirche to the Schlossberg and on to the city museum. Once you have reached the top of the Schlossberg, you will find the Kanonenhütte and the clock tower, which is very similar to the clock tower in the provincial capital Graz, but it is not a replica. The clock tower was once a watchtower for the city's fire watch.
Furthermore, the Schlossberg is not only a popular excursion mountain for the people of Bruck, but has also been increasingly used as a location for various events for several years.
The Schlossberg is not only a beautiful excursion destination during the day, the ruin is also an attraction at night, because for some time the ruin has been illuminated with spotlights that change color depending on the temperature
