Salchau
This is a long, strenuous mountain bike tour through the Murau region.
Due to its length, this mountain bike route requires a certain level of fitness and stamina. However, the effort is made up for by the picturesque scenery, villages worth seeing and nice places to stop and rest.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Turn right here towards Murau. In Murau, the WM-Halle is located after the second traffic circle on the left-hand side.
Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) drive to Murau. After the double traffic circle, the WM-Halle is on the right-hand side.
From the starting point, the WM-Halle Murau, take the Murradweg (R2) to Frojach. Keep left here and cycle to Katsch an der Mur. In Katsch an der Mur, turn right behind the SteirerAlm and cycle over the Hinterburggraben to Oberwölz. Cross the historic town of Oberwölz once and turn left after the town towards Seinzerkreuz. The route continues straight on via Salchau to Gellsee. Shortly before Gellsee, the path branches off to the right.
The mountain bike tour leads via the Hinteralm and the Schönberg-Lachtal back to the main road. Follow this road to Niederwölz. In Niederwölz, keep right and cycle to Teufenbach. Cross Teufenbach, keep right and cycle along the Mur cycle path via Frojach and Saurau back to Murau.
The historic town of Oberwölz is well worth a short stop.
