Tour 67b - MTB - Hofer-Alm - trail included

Beautiful cozy hut tour in the Murtal adventure region in Styria with cool refreshment that can be completed with a descent on the Hoferhüttentrail.
On this tour we start at the parking lot Wipfelwanderweg junction 67 and go right away 600m to the Kischbauer junction, Now we turn left towards Rösslergraben and go on the asphalt road along the stream comfortably uphill to the turnoff Hoferhütte on the left. At the bridge and at the sign there is often an indication if the Hoferhütte is open. Now it goes on gravel road through the forest uphill, past bee huts to the hill in front of the Hoferhütte. There you must then definitely find the time for a photo stop in the adventure region Murtal in styria, before you are spoiled at the Hoferhütte with a good snack, soup or cake. Since the hut is only open on weekends, there is a small earth cellar and you do not have to do without the chilled drinks. Now you can decide whether you want to ride the jagged trail downhill (experienced bikers) or rather still 50Hm to the Lenzenkreuz over some roots up and downhill via the Roatmoaralm (gravel road ) and the Rachau (asphalt) takes the more leisurely way back to the Wipfelwanderweg. TNow you can decide whether you want to ride the jagged trail downhill (experienced bikers) or rather ride up another 50Hm to the Lenzenkreuz over some roots and ride downhill over the Roatmoaralm (gravel road) and the Rachau (asphalt) the more leisurely way back to the inn at Fuchs & Henne at Knottenpunkt 67.

More information

Take the Knittelfeld OST exit and continue in the direction of Rachau or St. Margarethen bei Knittelfeld and then in St. Margarethen turn right onto Gleinstraße. We recommend that you always stay in the direction of Rachau bei Knittelfeld, because the access road to the Wipfelwanderweg Rachau is located near the entrance to the village/exit of Rachau.

Most navigation systems, when entering "Mitterbach 25", will guide you over a somewhat longer and complicated approach to the Wipfelwanderweg. We therefore recommend entering the address "Rachau 97" (= Gemeindeamt Rachau), as this will lead you directly in the direction of Rachau and then you can no longer miss the Gleinstraße, or the turn-off from there to the Wipfelwanderweg Rachau due to the signs.
