Museum of local history - smoke house
Anger
Experience the way of life and culture of the mountain farmers and craftsmen of yesteryear. For centuries this farmhouse remained unchanged.
This over 300-year-old house provides insight into the way of life and culture of the mountain farmers and craftsmen of the past.
The smoke room is fully equipped and is still heated for cooking and smoking. Then, under the pitch-black beam ceiling, pieces of meat are hung to smoke. Occasionally, we also cook the "Häfennigl" for our guests over an open hearth fire.
The original furnishings, painted boxes, tools of the farmers, shingle and thatchers, the cooper, shoemaker, tailor, and weaver, as well as old pictures and documents give a glimpse into the past. Over 300 exhibits tell stories of joy and sorrow from ancient times.
Opening hours: Thursday - Sunday
Guided tours: at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Rustic guest room with 60 seats next door.
