Waldbach-Mönichwald has been a municipality in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district of Styria in Austria since 2015.

By car:
From Graz: via the A2 to the Hartberg exit, then B50 and B54 via Grafendorch to Rohrbach; continue via Koglerau and Bruck to Waldbach, Rabl-Kreuz-Hütte

From Vienna: via the A2 to the Pinggau exit, then on the B54 towards Hartberg to Rohrbach a. d. Lafnitz; continue via Koglerau and Bruck to Waldbach, Rabl-Kreuz-Hütte

We start at the Rabl-Kreuz hut, from where we follow hiking trail no. 912
We walk along the prepared natural toboggan run until we reach a crossroads, where we are greeted by a sculpture of signposts
We take our bearings from the wooden board with the inscription "Hochwechsel Wetterkoglerhaus" and continue uphill in the forest aisle
On a large meadow area, many tracks usually show us the way ahead
Once we reach the summit, we can enjoy a magnificent view over the Joglland - Waldheimat region
In winter, the Wetterkoglerhaus Alpine Club House is closed, but we can warm ourselves in a winter room at the back of the house
After a short break to catch our breath, we take the same route back to the Rabl-Kreuz hut

A hike in the early hours of the morning or at dusk is particularly recommended to watch the magnificent sunrise or sunset.
