Nature juwels in Styria
Natural alpine landscapes
Located on the very top of the Styrian mountain landscape lie the alpine natural treasures. The hike needed to get to them is absolutely worth it, when you get to lay eyes on the breath-taking scenery, the untouched nature, and the partially unique animal world.
Being able to take a deep breath, seeing the flora and fauna and just taking in the surrounding nature… The alps are the biggest natural and cultural environment in all of Central Europe and are therefore the perfect place for those seeking relaxation. The alpine habitats in Styria offer recreation in nature as well as a flora and fauna that is unique to the Green Heart of Austria.
This is referring to plants such as the Clusius-cinquefoil and the East-Alps-meier. Additionally, you can spot the carnivorous sundew, the rare ostrich-feathermoss, and the white meadowsweet. More widely spread, but very pretty to look at, are plant species such as the mountain avens or the carnations.
The heraldic animal of Austria can also be spotted in the alpine habitats: The golden eagles draw their circles here. Also, chamois and ibexes are roaming around and astound us with their climbing skills. This is why the alpine habitats are the perfect place to lean back and take in everything that nature has to offer.
