On 12 July 2025, the Stadtpark Bärnbach will become the impressive stage for one of the greatest operas of all time: ‘Nabucco’ by Giuseppe Verdi. This captivating opera has fascinated audiences for over 180 years with its powerful music, dramatic plot and profound symbolism.
The famous ‘Prisoners’ Chorus - Va pensiero sull'ali dorate’ in particular provides goosebump-inducing moments and has lost none of its emotional power to this day. The story of power, oppression and redemption remains timelessly topical: while the Jews fight against Babylonian rule, King Nabucco falls prey to delusions of grandeur, is overthrown and finally comes to his senses through a divine inspiration.
The performance is presented by the renowned Opera Italiana, accompanied by the celebrated conductor Maestro Giorgio Croci, who has already thrilled audiences at the Arena di Verona.
