A view of humanity by the philosopher and women's rights activist Edith Stein
Their lives reflect the upheavals and catastrophes of the 20th century.
With Hubert Gaisbauer, Adelheid Picha and Johannes Daxner. Anna Mittermeier, double bass.
What does Edith Stein, a Jew, atheist, philosopher, Christian, intellectual and nun, have to say to us today? She wrote her dissertation on “Introduction”. For her, knowledge is also about feelings, about sensing.
She was already familiar with what is now called intersexuality - as an objection to rigid gender boundaries. And she also addresses people outside of religious communities. Especially with regard to the many people who are searching for a spiritual home. It has an appreciative concept of freedom.
And what we can learn from it is to listen to each other. In this sense, she really can be a “patron saint of Europe”, to which she was “elevated” by the Church.
