Themed evening on war and peace
The title “Where your gentle wing dwells” is an allusion to the verses “All humans become brothers where your gentle wing dwells” from Friedrich Schiller's “Ode to Joy”, which were set to music by Ludwig van Beethoven in his 3rd Symphony.
These lines symbolize the unifying power of joy and hope.
Gerti Drassl reads poetry and prose that is close to her heart, combined with music by Toni Burger.
Gerti Drassl, born 1978 in Eppan (South Tyrol). First studied art history, then acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar. 2002 to 2017 Theater in der Josefstadt. She has appeared in many television, cinema and theater productions, including The Diary of Anne Frank, Der Trafikant and the series Vorstadtweiber. She has received numerous awards, including the Nestroy Theater Prize, the German Actors' Prize and the Austrian Film Prize.
Toni Burger, born 1963 in Herzogenburg. Lives and works as a musician and cattle herder in Ausseerland. From 1972 violin lessons, 1980-85 concert studies with Gerhard Schulz at the University of Music in Vienna. Chamber music and orchestral work, solo performances. 1983 Tour and record with Konstantin Wecker. From 1984 first theater work as musician, composer and/or musical director. Numerous record and CD recordings.
