Leobner Hütte
VordernbergThe Leobner Hütte is located at 1,582m above sea level on the eastern slope of the 1,910m high Polster. It is the starting point for tours to the "Polster", the "Griesmauer", the "TAC peak", the "Hochturm", the "Leobner Mauer" or the "Frauenmauer"-Cave.
The hut was built almost 200 years ago as miners' accommodation and is therefore simply furnished with rustic charm. Almost 100 years ago, the house was expanded by the Leoben section of the ÖAV as tourist accommodation, which is how the hut got its current name.
The easiest way to reach the Leobnerhütte is via path 871 from the Präbichl. At a leisurely pace, you can reach your destination in about 1.5 hours via a simple mountain path through the forest and over alpine pastures.
The committed tenants Sabine and Hermann serve their guests typical hut food and value regional products as far as possible. For example, there is country bread with farmer's bacon from the region or homemade "Kaiserschmarren", a typical Austrian dessert.
For overnight stays in the hut, a mattress camp offers sleeping places for up to 20 people.
Requests for a place to sleep should be clarified directly with the landlords of the hut by telephone or e-mail.
