Museum im Alten Rathaus Eisenerz
EisenerzAwarded the Austrian museum seal of quality, the Eisenerz City Museum is located in the original center of the mining town and documents the eventful relationship between the Erzberg and the "weyt-famous Marckt" Eisenerz with unique exhibits in a representative ambience.
A visit to the Eisenerzer Museum takes you back to the heyday of the local iron industry in the 16th century.
Because the representative councilors' hall from 1583 and the former Carcer bring this chapter of history with all its facets to light again. A tour of the three floors of the old town hall brings much of Eisenerz's rich past to life.
The focus is on the eventful relationship between the Styrian Erzberg and the city of Eisenerz. Unique showpieces, such as precious iron blossoms and minerals, the Eisenerz miracle stage and other rarities from the mining industry and local cultural history, such as the Tendler puppet theater, document these clearly and vividly. They are supplemented by film contributions and offer you a comprehensive picture of the development of a place from which European history was once written.
