Österreichisches Post- und Telegraphenmuseum Eisenerz
EisenerzIn the Post and Telegraph Museum in Eisenerz, not only stamp collectors and friends of postal history get their money's worth, but also all kinds of people interested in culture.
The Austrian Post and Telegraph Museum is housed in the historic rooms of the Kammerhof, a former hunting lodge of Emperor Franz Josef I. The museum, which has been set up with great care and dedication, shows the development of the postal and telegraph system from the imperial era to the present day.
Numerous historically and culturally valuable original exhibits, such as a roadworthy, walk-in mail coach, an original k.k. Post office from around 1900, post-historical documents, writing and office utensils, technical equipment and much more take visitors back in time.
A specially equipped children's post office leaves nothing to be desired, even for the little ones. Here, the youngest museum visitors can actively understand how letters and telephones were used before the Internet and mobile phones existed.
Visitors can experience history here in a realistic and interactive way - a worthwhile excursion destination for the whole family.
