National park crossing / 3 days

Program and supervision by the two national park rangers Heimo and Kiki

Good fitness for multi-hour daily stages and sure-footedness are prerequisites.

Approximately 6 to 7 hours of pure walking time spread over a whole day, max. 1,000 to 1,200 meters of elevation gain per day

In addition to the usual hiking equipment for day hikes (wind and weatherproof clothing, mountain-compatible hiking shoes, change of clothes, personal (hygiene) equipment…):

• Sleeping bag for huts
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Snacks and drinks for the journey (the snack for the next day can be purchased at the mountain hut)

How challenging is the tour?
The exact route will be determined at short notice depending on the weather situation. We will hike for about 6 - 7 hours spread throughout the day (pure walking time) and ascend a total of up to 1,000 - 1,200 meters per day. In the evening, we will arrive at the respective hut.

When does the event start and when does it end? Where will we stay?
The event starts on the first day at 9:00 AM. During the day we will hike and take care of our own snacks; dinner and breakfast can be purchased at the huts (not included). We will stay in the mattress dormitory of the huts (reservations are made by the organizers, costs for accommodation are not included in the package). When arriving by public transport, it may be advisable – depending on public transport schedules – to plan for an arrival and overnight stay on-site the evening before.
A big request to all vegetarians and allergy sufferers: please provide this information at registration so we can pass it on to the hut manager.

Where will we be accommodated?
We will stay in a hut in the mattress dormitory along our hiking route.

Can I bring my four-legged friend?
Bringing dogs is not possible.

Will the event take place in any weather?
In principle, yes, unless a strong cold snap or bad weather prevents hiking at higher altitudes.

Will be announced about two weeks before the event starts.

Travel to our events, if possible, using public transportation or use the Gesäuse Sammeltaxi (+43 3613 21000 99) in the summer months.
