Badesee Gaishorn
GaishornWhere the soul takes a holiday
The Gaishorn bathing lake is a place where it is easy to find peace and quiet. Even the chirping of the crickets and the circling of the eagles seems a little more relaxed here than elsewhere. Thanks to the commitment of some Gaishorn residents, the recreational area around the lake offers wonderful opportunities for children, sun worshippers but also gourmets. The large lawn for sunbathing, the large playground, the Kneipp path, the beach volleyball courts and the lakeside kiosk with delicacies such as pizza, cake or ice cream ensure that you will want to spend a long time here.
Chilling with the crickets
The chirping of the crickets not only attracts bathers, but also many campers want to fulfil their dream of a "house(s) by the lake". The Gaishorn campsite has 10 pitches for mobile homes and very well-maintained sanitary facilities. It has an excellent location from a transport point of view - famous destinations such as the Gesäuse National Park, Admont Abbey or the Dachstein Mountains can be reached quickly and easily. The good bakeries, confectioners and restaurants in the village centre make a camping holiday in little Gaishorn a great culinary event by the way.
Winter highlights
Where in summer the chirping of crickets, in winter ice skates leave their grooves. Ice skating on the Gaishorn bathing lake is a wonderful programme item on the winter to-do list - here every winter heart turns its pirouettes. Those who want to test their skills on much longer "runners" have the opportunity to use the well-maintained cross-country ski trails around the lake. The toboggan runs on Mödlinger Weg and Schattenberg offer another highlight for the young and young at heart.
