21. Steirischer Zauberwald
Neuberg an der MürzA forest full of magical figures and stories. The 21st Styrian Magic Forest in the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park.
It is probably, alongside the Neuberger Cultural Days, the most famous event in the upper Mürztal and beyond - the Styrian Magic Forest. More than 50 amateur actors from the region invite our visitors in the face of the magnificent landscape at the foot of the Schneealm into a world of magic and fairy tales along the easily walkable circular trail.
Protection from Goblins and Forest Spirits
Of course, special amulets with magical powers, which are distributed to all children at the beginning of the hike, protect them from the playful tricks of the goblins and other pranks.
Daily from 9 AM to 4 PM, enchanting fairy tale creatures, wise kings, and even wiser farmers, forest women, and talking animals will cast a spell on our visitors.

- The meeting point is the entrance area of the Children's Hotel Appelhof in Mürzsteg.
- The parking spaces on site will be signposted.
- A walk through the Magic Forest takes about 2 hours, and a new visitor group starts every 20 minutes.
- If the event has to be canceled due to heavy rain or thunderstorms, tickets already sold (on-site or via oeticket.com) cannot be refunded.
Arrival and Departure by Bus and Train
With the expansion of public transport connections throughout the nature park, arrival and departure by bus (Regio Bus Line 189) and train via Mürzzuschlag and Neuberg an der Mürz is easily possible on both event days. We invite all visitors to take advantage of these extended bus connections to Neuberg an der Mürz to travel to the Styrian Magic Forest in an environmentally and resource-saving, as well as stress-free manner.
