The Loreto Chapel is located just above Oberkapfenberg Castle.
The Loreto Chapel, built in the 17th century (693m above sea level) is only a few minutes' walk away, at the highest point of Kapfenberg
Around the chapel you can still see the surrounding walls of the first castle in "Chaffenberch", documented in 1173.
The interior and the altar of the chapel date from the 1870s.

The "Black Madonna of Maria Loret (t) o" has been a popular pilgrimage destination up to our time.
In place of the first castle from around 1140, the Loreto Chapel was built in 1676; the interior is from 1770.
The "Braid of Agnes von Stubenberg" is also kept in the chapel.
