Schloss Pichl
St. Barbara im MürztalThe castle was built in the 16th century by Georg Idungspeuger in its preserved form instead of a court that was already mentioned in 1363. The U-shaped building block has 4 protruding corner towers with hipped roofs. The chapel with ribbed vaulting used to be located in the north-east tower. On the ground floor, there is a paneled hall with a field ceiling. Today, Schloss Pichl serves as the forestry training center of the Chamber of Agriculture for Styria. The Pilgerpark - located in the area of the castle - is a park of a special kind: art objects on the theme of pilgrimage and retreat can be found here.
