Special exhibition "Hals- und Beinbruch" – Fit for the Slopes
In the 1970s and 1980s, an entire ski nation conditioned itself in front of the television for the upcoming winter season! With musical accompaniment, the whole family hopped and danced in front of the TV!
A revival of this training is now taking place again in front of the television and also on digital media. In this interactive exhibition, visitors will also have the opportunity to test their personal fitness.
In the medical section "Cast, Nail, and Co", visitors can learn more about the increase in skiing accidents and the associated injuries.
Visitors will also discover more about the technical developments of ski equipment: a look at ski boots, bindings, and clothing from the last decades. Fashion enthusiasts truly felt comfortable in tight Jethosen and knitted pullovers while carving through powder snow.
Accessories like gaiters, headbands, and mini bags created fashionable accents, and technical advancements such as ski brakes and safety bindings significantly reduced the risk of injury.
A section is also dedicated to the post-war economic boom and the rising tourism. Whether for a ski vacation or a day trip, starting in the 1960s, it became quick and comfortable to drive to the ski slopes.
What would Austrian tourism be without winter tourism?
This multimedia exhibition encompasses the topics of fitness, equipment, injuries, and winter tourism, a MUST for all ski fans! Educational programs and special guided tours of the exhibition complete the offering.

The WinterSportMuseum Mürzzuschlag has one of the largest and most important collections in the winter sports history. A separate children's adventure path complements the offer. Families can visit the individual stations of the KinderElebnisWeg together with the snow bunny Toni and, supported by the instruction booklet, solve many tricky puzzles or try out skill competitions.
