At 6:30 a.m., the marksmen and the music meet at the village square and form up at the municipal office. The company marches in step behind the music towards the church, where the marksman's service will be celebrated at 7:00 a.m. At 8:15 a.m., the auxiliary bishop Johannes will be welcomed at the village square. The festive service, followed by a procession, starts at 9:00 a.m. At 2:00 p.m., there will be another assembly to march for the blessing. Following that, the firing of the honor salutes will commence, during which the flag will be swung with musical accompaniment after each general discharge.
The Prangschützengarde Ranten is a member of the district association of the civic and shooting guards of the district of Murau, which serves as the umbrella organization for all 5 guards in the district.
In 2012, under the title "Festbrauch der Bürger- und Schützengarden des Bezirkes Murau," the Prangschützengarde Ranten was added to the register of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Austria by UNESCO.
