Fishing in the Bodendorf dam
St. Georgen am KreischbergFishing in the middle of harmonious nature is possible in Bodendorf dam. Here you can not only come to rest and relax, but also bring home a successful catch.
The Bodendorf dam begins at the Wandritsch bridge below St. Ruprecht. The Mur is up to 80 meters wide and 2 km long in this area. Here it is a river up to 8 meters deep, which, due to a power plant harmoniously embedded in nature, has a slow flow rate. This dam and also the dam in St. Georgen are mainly suitable for spin fishing. Here it is the regulation that there must be no lead under the bait in order to protect and preserve the stock. On the asphalt bike path, the entire right bank can be reached on foot. In between, there is a parking facility at the Cäciliabrücke. The left bank is only partially accessible. The fish stock consists mainly of brown and rainbow trout, although grayling are also caught from time to time by bellyboat fishermen.
