Happ Reptile Zoo
The Happ Reptile Zoo is home to over 1,000 animals, including 20 species of lizards, 60 species of snakes, 20 species of turtles, piranhas and insects in the insectarium. Here you can experience exotic and native snakes and lizards up close.
Happ Reptile Zoo is the biggest reptile zoo in Austria, providing a species-appropriate home to over 1,000 different animals. The zoo’s main attractions include 20 different species of lizard, 60 species of snake, 20 different types of turtle, piranhas, as well as an insectarium with tarantulas and scorpions. The facility also features mambas, cobras, rattle snakes, goannas, iguanas and agamas, along with giant tortoises, crocodiles and native snakes. At Happ you will learn a lot about the lives of exotic snakes and lizards, as well as those that are native to Austria. During shows hosted by zoo staff, you will have the chance to touch some of the animals and overcome any fears you might have. Yet another highlight of a visit to the Reptile Zoo is Saturday-afternoon feedings of the crocodiles and tortoises. Dogs (on a leash) are also welcome at Happ Reptile Zoo. Plenty of parking is available essentially right outside the zoo’s front door.
