Steinschlosshütte
Neumarkt in der SteiermarkThe Steinschloßhütte is located directly under the castle ruins that give it its name. Idyllically located, the hut offers delicacies such as snacks and regional Woaza from May to October. The hut is run by the Burgverein Steinschloss. The income from the hut contributes directly to the preservation of the ruin, as it finances the restoration and maintenance of the castle. The volunteers are happy about every visit. Groups are also welcome.
Due to its location and size, the castle ruins Steinschloss is one of the most impressive facilities in Central Europe. Right next to it is the Steinschlosshütte, which is open from May to October!

At 1180 meters above sea level, the Steinschloss ruin is the highest castle ruin in Styria. It is located in the Upper Mur Valley in the municipality of Neumarkt in der Steiermark, on the northwest slope from Steinberg to Teufenbach. This high castle was probably built in the 12th century by the noble family "von Stein".
