On the sunny high plateau of Hohentauern, active winter sports enthusiasts are in exactly the right place: because here, thanks to the altitude, there are not only optimal snow conditions, but also ideal conditions for indulging in the Nordic discipline. Five cross-country ski trail entrances and a more than 13-kilometre-long cross-country ski trail network ensure that there is a suitable trail for everyone.
The currant conditions
Regular cross-country skiing is good for your body and your health. The Hohentauern region is well aware of this and has therefore developed a network of cross-country trails together with sports doctors that is suitable for all levels of ability. In the midst of the magnificent mountain world of the Niedere Tauern, you can do something for your fitness and enjoy the wonderful landscape at the same time.
An approximately 5 km long hiking trail in the Triebental valley rounds off the offer. And if you are looking for even more winter activities, you can also work off your energy in the immediate vicinity with skiing, winter triathlon, ski touring or winter hiking. But don't worry: there are of course plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat afterwards.
