The Carnival and Customs Museum in Knittelfeld houses over 7,000 exhibits from all over the world, including 2,500 carnival costumes from Europe, the USA, Canada, Africa and Brazil. It displays impressive carnival uniforms, dance costumes from Rio de Janeiro, traditional costumes such as the Aper Schnaltzer, hand-carved wooden masks and witches' costumes.
It also presents the uniforms of the local music bands, which play an important role in the carnival celebrations. A must for anyone who wants to discover the fascinating world of carnival.
