Military Aviation Museum in Hangar No. 8
ZeltwegMajor aircraft types and other military aviation topics are presented in Hangar No. 8!
On 5,000 m² in the old historical Hangar No. 8, over 25 aircraft from the history of Austrian military aviation are displayed.
Among the exhibited aircraft are, among others, a Yakovlev Yak-18, the first aircraft commissioned by the Austrian Federal Army of the Second Republic, and other types significant to the history of the air forces such as the Fouga CM 170 "Magister", De Havilland DH-115 "Vampire", Saab J-29F "Flying Barrel", and Agusta Bell 204, as well as the well-known Saab 35OE "Draken".
In addition to fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, aviation enthusiasts can view a simulator, aircraft engines, jet engines, anti-aircraft guns, radar devices, aviation technical equipment, uniforms, and equipment of the air forces, numerous display panels and photographs, as well as special exhibitions on various topics related to military aviation in Austria.
