Murtal Alpaka
St. Peter ob JudenburgKeeping and breeding happy, healthy animals is our mission and the "Fleece of the Gods" is our reward!
In the heart of Styria, at the northernmost foothills of the Seetal Alps, at the foot of the Zirbitz massif with a view over the Mur valley, lies the 3ha Rachhof, which was taken over by the Rupret family in 2011.
In January 2013 the Rupret family started to breed alpacas. After the intensive examination of the subject of alpaca breeding and after joining the Alpaca Association Austria, it was quickly clear to the Rupret family that only with first-class genetics and with the highest quality animals are bred. Successful breeding is only possible through a species-appropriate and natural environment, so the Rupret family is convinced that they have created an optimal basis for alpaca breeding with their Rachhof. Sunny and lush pastures in the foothills of the Alps with numerous bushes and trees, own springs with clear, pure mountain water and clean air in a wonderful panorama guarantee a species-appropriate husbandry in a relaxed atmosphere.
Furthermore, four Hungarian shepherd dogs and a Jack Russell live at the Rachhof, as well as cats, a few pot-bellied and therapy pigs, various breeds of chickens, ducks, geese and a small fish pond, which provides a varied and natural everyday life.
