city museum Judenburg
JudenburgThe town of Judenburg with all its facets
The founding of the Judenburg City Museum in 1948 was the initiative of Ernst Klepsch-Kirchner, a collector who had moved to Judenburg from Wein, and Betty Perwein from Judenburg. Since 1990, the museum has been located in the spacious building in Kaserngasse.
A panoramic model on the ground floor is intended to give visitors an initial overview of the medieval and modern city topography. Dioramas by local artist Anna Krotschek accompany the visitor through the historical display collection on the two upper floors. Supplemented by documents and objects, they illustrate important stages in Judenburg's history in scenes typical of the period.
