Traditional, enchanting, and sensory – that’s how Hartberg's Christmas magic can be aptly described.
When a multitude of lights brings sights, treetops, alleys, and house facades to life, Hartberg – the city of the senses – invites you again to the traditional Christmas magic in the historic old town.
From November 28 to December 23, 2025, the traditional Christmas market will take place in the old town of Hartberg at the main square and the arts and crafts/Advent market at the museum.
Opening hours for the Christmas market at the main square:
THU, FRI from 3 to 8 PM
SAT, SUN from 2 to 8 PM
MON 22.12. and TUE 23.12. from 3 PM
Our gastronomy is open longer for you - Culinary delights also in the pedestrian zone
Peace Light handover on 23.12. at 6:30 PM
Highlights:
- Free ice skating rink for children at the main square
- Free ice skate rental
- Autograph session with TSV Egger Glas Hartberg
- Krampus Rumble by the Edelweißverein Hartberg on Friday, December 5th at 7 PM at the main square
- Horse-drawn carriage rides
- Live music: every Saturday and on December 8th from 5-7 PM at the main square
- Peace Light handover on 23.12. at 6:30 PM
- Photo point at the main square
- Nativity scene exhibition at the Artist Meeting in the FUZO Hartberg
- Especially for children: ice skating rink, readings in the old classroom at the museum, magic show, magic workshop, Christmas crafting
