Smoke house Schirner
BirkfeldThe Schirner Rauchstubenhaus was inhabited by the Grabenbauer family until 1977. Afterwards, in November 1993, the Styrian Homeland Security Service awarded it the Geramb symbol of thanks in recognition of the exemplary revitalization by the "Laurentikomitee".
The approximately 300-year-old Rauchstubenhaus was discovered in the early 1980s by the MR film company for a Rosegger series. In the years 1982 and 83, the Schirnerhaus was chosen as the location for Peter Rosegger's story "When I was still a forest farmer's boy". The Schirnerhof became known far beyond the borders through the aforementioned film series.
In addition to farmer's hand tools, certificates and pictures, you can also enjoy original farmer's dishes.
