St. Kathrein am OffeneggThe Stoakoglhütte is located at almost 1,400 meters above sea level on the Sommeralm and is open all year round. Here, tired hikers get a hearty snack, but also larger, typically Styrian dishes. The alpine song evenings at the Stoakoglhütte or the full moon snowshoe hikes with the hut owner are particularly popular.
The approx. 250 year old Stoakoglhütte is located directly on the Sommeralm panorama road and is a popular destination for young and old. Many hiking trails, including the Plankogel circular route, start right at the hut.
The hut is open all year round, hut landlord Heimo and hut landlady Martina conjure up delicacies on the plate: from Wiener Schnitzel to Kaspres dumpling soup, to hearty snacks or a beef salad, are available at the ALMO Genusswirt. The alpine breakfast is also a special experience! Often it is played here: the Almfest or the alpine song evenings that take place in summer are a must for every music lover.
